Ulu Önder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün milli mücadele yılları, Kurtuluş Savaşı ve Cumhuriyetin Kuruluşu sırasında Tokat’a gelişinde kalmış olduğu, 971.91 m² arsa ve 2 katlı ev Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı'nca 2001 yılında kamulaştırıldı.
Mustafa Vasfi Süsoy (1876-1934); Atatürk’ün Çanakkale ve Kurtuluş Savaşı sırasında Kurmay Subaylığını yapmış bir asker, Bandırma Vapuru’nda yanında bulunan silah arkadaşı ve Cumhuriyetle birlikte dört dönem Tokat Milletvekilliği yapmış, her zaman Atatürk’ün yakınında bulunmuş, çalışmalarını ve fikirlerini desteklemiş yakın çalışma arkadaşıdır. Atatürk’ün Tokat’ı ziyaretlerinde, her zaman kendi evinde evinde misafir etmiştir. Atatürk’ün Tokat’ı ilk ziyareti 26 Haziran 1919 tarihinde, Milli Mücadele yıllarında olmuştur. Silah arkadaşı Mustafa Vasfi SÜSOY’a ait bu evde bir gece kalmıştır. İkinci ziyaretleri 25 Eylül 1924 Perşembe günü, Latife Hanımla birlikte olmuştur. Atatürk ve Latife Hanım bu evde iki gece konaklamışlardır. Atatürk’ün Tokat’ı bir diğer ziyareti olan 19 Eylül 1928 Çarşamba günü, Tokat Hükümet Konağı Vilayet Meclis-i Umumi Salonunda memurlara ve halka yeni alfabe dersi verip, öğle yemeğini Mustafa Vasfi SÜSOY’a ait bu evde yedikten sonra Sivas’a hareket etmiştir. Dördüncü kez gelişlerinde 25 Eylül 1925 tarihinde eşi Latife Hanım ile birlikte misafir olmuştur.
